Don’t just take our word for it. Here are some of the lovely things that our guests have been saying about their stay at Brecks Cottage Bed & Breakfast near Newark. If you’d like to leave your own review.
“A couple of weeks previous to my stay ar Brecks Cottage I was at an event at Newark Showground, and stayed at a Travelodge. I was so disgusted with the state of the Travelodge, I decided to try a private B&B. Brecks Cottage is just 15 minutes from the showground, which was my main concern.
“My room was in a converted stable and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay, infact I’ve never seen such an array for a hospitality tray, I needn’t have grabbed tea on the way back from my long day at the showground. The room had everything you could want, for a comfortable stay. The bathroom is a large wet room, and the shower is phenomenal. There were bath robes hung behind the door and the towels were lovely large and fluffy, I was showered and ready for bed in no time.
“My dog and I had a great night’s sleep, probably about nine hours worth……well we were tired!
“In the morning I took the dog out for a walk up the deserted lane, and as it was now light, could take in the beautiful surroundings Brecks Cottage is set amongst…..I could have walked and walked, but decided against it as I still had my pyjamas on underneath my coat. I left my room and set off for home with a heavy heart, wishing I could have stayed longer.
“About 2 miles into my journey home, Sue, the owner thankfully rang to say I’d left Holly’s bed…..! Sue is a lovely lady, and we had a nice chat before I reluctantly headed off home. This place is definitely worth considering for a stay which is not only in gorgeous countryside, but handy for Newark and surrounding places.”
“Welcoming and helpful” – Trip Advisor review left February 2016
“met up with friends for a convenient mid stop between Yorkshire and Norfolk. From initial enquiry onwards Sue was extremely helpful and friendly – good advice about places to eat etc. Nice rooms, lovely breakfast and pretty surroundings even in January! Unfortunately we forgot our phone and Sue kindly arranged and packed it up for us safely – – really kind, thanks Sue.”
“Lovely b&b very cosy” – Trip Advisor review left December 2015
“I don’t usually write reviews and should have done this a lot sooner! I have stayed at this lovely b&b twice now first for long weekend away and again just after our wedding! I asked to stay in the peach room for both visits and both times was very pleasant. The lady who owns the b&b was lovely both times and goes out of her way to make it a wonderful stay and memorable. The room was clean and very cosy, and the breakfast was very enjoyable. I couldn’t fault the place in anyway and I see myself and my husband returning for another visit in the new year!”
“A life saver” – Trip Advisor review left November 2015
“Sue, took our family in on very short notice along with our two dogs. She had prepared the room so it was nice and warm for when we arrived excellent service. A superb place to stay with a very good breakfast. The room had excellent facilities, a brilliant shower/wet room and tea and coffee making facilities. Sue even had a cool box prepared for us with fresh milk. A very pleasant place to stay with the owner who has a heart of Gold.”
“Great stay with very friendly family in a beautiful part of the country” – Booking.com review left October 2015
“Friendly people and great value for money. Breakfast was good and couldn’t do enough for us. Rooms basic but adequate.”
“Thought of everything & dog welcome! ” – Trip Advisor review left October 2015
“Overnight stay for my husband & I breaking journey to Durham. So many thoughtful touches like fresh milk, filtered water jug & proper biscuits. Small but warm, comfortable room with lovely hot shower (a stable conversion?) & car just outside made having our four legged friend very easy. Helpful friendly host Sue & very nice breakfast. Only downside for us was the mattresses weren’t overly comfortable. We would recommend.”
